Jeana has just booked a co-star role on Journeyman, a new show for NBC. Her episode was directed by Laura Innes of ER fame and will likely air in October. Check back for more details but click here to visit the show’s website.
THE AUDACITY! This hilarious sketch group, led by the very talented Anthony Q. Farrell (who has just joined the writing staff of The Office), has already had two sold-out runs at the Met Theatre in Hollywood and was a major hit at a performance at The Improv. You can see several sketches on our myspace page. Check it out. We will also be performing live with a whole new set of sketches in just a month or two. Be sure to check back here for dates, times and ticket information.
Jeana’s own sketches – Jeana is working with the brilliantly witty Colin D. Garland on a sketch show that will combine their talents. Scheduled to take place at the MBar sometime in September, this collection of off-beat, funny, and oh-so-wrong material will be sure to make you laugh. Revisit the site for the exact date. We’ll see you there.
What a whirlwind Jeana’s writing career has become! Her fantastic literary manager, Sheree Guitar, secured meetings with several, top-level executives on the strength of a pilot written by Jeana and Colin, which is currently being shopped around. On her own, Jeana has written a 30 Rock spec for various fellowships and contests that is getting rave reviews. Currently, she has been commissioned to write two pilots that hope to make the development rounds soon. Updates will be posted here and if you are interested, Sheree’s contact information is on the contact page. Click here.
Stakeout, a short written by Jeana, performed by Scott Dawson and Kristofer Kelly, and directed by Lilas Lane, was shot at the beginning of August. The shoot on this comedic piece went so well that it is being developed into a full webisode series! As soon as it is edited, the link to a web broadcast will be made available.
An update on Split, a short about a group of female bowlers. It is now in the hands of a fabulous director and might shoot soon. There is still a chance that this might become a pilot so keep you fingers crossed.
Blind Date – another short written by Jeana, will go before cameras in October/November with director Lilas Lane at the helm. This particular piece stars Jeana as a throwback to the 30’s and is an amusing comment on finding the right person to love.
Other Acting News:
Jeana is the voice of a Jeep Bobblehead for AOL Instant Messaging. It’s a Superbuddy who talks to you and right now it’s in What’s Hot! A Baby Chick, a Japanese Dog and a Cheerleader (an AOL favorite) are other characters voiced by Jeana that are available to download.
Jeana recently shot Feel Better Fast, a short directed by Laura Cayouette (Kill Bill, Vol 2 & For The Love of the Game among others). This charming film stars Sharmila Devar and should be on the festival circuit next year.
Jeana’s first film, the horror movie Sideshow, can now be rented from Netflix. It’s got some great make-up effects and is also good if you’re looking for a cheesy, fun spook night. It was directed by Fred Olen Ray and stars Phil Fondacaro and B-movie queen Brinke Stevens. Click here for a direct link or click here for general Netflix info.
She also shot the role of an obnoxious receptionist in the short Purgatory – a fun film in which Jeana, perhaps a bit predictably, works for the devil.
Jeana is now taking classes at The Harvey Lembeck Comedy Workshop. This improv-based class is incredible for anyone looking to do sitcom. The teachers are amazing! Click here for more info.
Jeana has just finished her Level 3 performance class at The Groundlings. This sketch class culminated in a show on the Groundlings stage. Jeana’s appearances as nerdy girl Angie Gorman, butch lesbian Darlene and her improv as a new mother discussing breast feeding were all well received. It was a really fun show and Jeana was thrilled to share the stage with such talented funny people!.
Random Stuff:
What was the 4th Wall? For two years, Jeana has been one of the producers of this monthly evening of short films that highlights the best and brightest upcoming filmmakers. Though we will no longer be doing regular screenings, there will be an occasional event when we feel that we have some great pieces to show. Revisit this area to learn of upcoming screenings, one of which will include the world premiere of Jeana’s producing effort, DaveBob and the Carrot of God.
FESTIVAL NEWS:
Jeana was thrilled that Pre-Nups, a comedic short about a husband and wife who take their pre-nup agreement to an extreme, was selected out of thousand of submissions to appear at the LA International Shorts Festival. It is especially gratifying since she is one of the two leads and a co-producer. It played at the fabulous Arclight and got a great response. Ah, the sound of laughter on a Friday afternoon. – P.S. It can now be found on You Tube in black & white.
The Good Part recently screened at Dances with Films in Los Angeles. This comedy is about a loser trying to make money by hosting a porn shoot in his backyard when everything goes wrong. Jeana plays an established porn star put off by the disorganization.
